be heard and felt. A real treat for fans of the soulfully played Hammond organ. Hammond organ icon Jimmy Smith was one of
his teachers in the US; another important influence of James Simpson was the musical director of the Ray Charles Band, James
Polk. He just told me: «Whatever you do, do not forsake the groove.» That"s exactly what he sees as his mission: I would like
to keep alive the tradition of soul jazz. I would like to make music that is earthy, groovy, 'greasy', as we say back home.
